Pentagon Public Iran-War-Linked Military Death Toll Rises to 19

The Pentagon's public Iran-war-linked military death count rose to 19 after an Army officer's non-hostile death was added to its casualty database.

The Pentagon's public casualty database now lists 19 U.S. military deaths across the categories used for Iran-war-related operations after adding a female Army officer who died following a medical emergency while travelling to Saudi Arabia. Task & Purpose reported that the September 21 database update raised Overseas Operations deaths to five, alongside 14 deaths listed under Operation Epic Fury. The public database has also recorded more than 820 wounded in action. Separately, The Washington Post reported that unnamed U.S. officials put the broader military death count at 22 or 23, a figure the Pentagon has disputed.
