UK house prices fell 0.2% month-on-month in September after rising 0.2% in August, Nationwide Building Society reported. Annual house-price growth slowed to 0.8% from 1.6%, the weakest pace since December 2025, while the average property price slipped to £274,251. The monthly decline was weaker than the flat reading expected by economists polled by Reuters. Nationwide said activity remained subdued amid economic uncertainty, with higher energy prices and interest-rate expectations maintaining pressure on mortgage pricing.
