The USS George H.W. Bush has arrived in Thailand after six months of operations in the Middle East. The deployment marks a shift in the carrier’s operational focus as it moves to the Asia-Pacific region.
The USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier arrived off Phuket, Thailand, on October 4 after roughly six months supporting U.S. military operations in the Middle East. The Nimitz-class carrier entered port alongside the guided-missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Black for a scheduled visit. Reuters reported about 4,800 personnel aboard the carrier, while the U.S. Navy described Phuket as the strike group's first port visit since departing the United States in March. The deployment included operations in the U.S. Central Command area before the group moved into the Indo-Pacific.
