Flydubai flight FZ1073 diverted to Saudi Arabia after the co-pilot reportedly stabbed the Indian captain during the flight. The incident led to an emergency diversion and raised concerns over aviation safety and crew security.
Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv diverted safely to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after a cockpit attack in which co-pilot allegedly stabbed Indian captain Smit Machchhar. Reuters reported the aircraft lost nearly 14,000 feet in under 30 seconds before passengers and crew helped restrain the co-pilot. Flydubai confirmed an en-route incident, the Tabuk landing and that all passengers were safe. Machchhar was reported stable and receiving treatment in Tabuk. The motive remains under investigation, while Israel said it would tighten security checks on pilots flying into the country.
